SUMMARY:For the Cancer Survivors in Your Practice: Practical and Essential Support
DESCRIPTION:OANP Spring CE Conference Abstract 2025 \nTitle:\nFor the Cancer Survivors in Your Practice: Practical and Essential Support \nAbstract:\nMany of us have clear ideas and recommendations for our patients while they are in conventional care to help enhance efficacy\, prevent side effects\, address side effects that arise\, and support the rest of the body\, mind and spirit. But for cancer survivors and those living with metastatic disease\, oftentimes the path forward is less clear for doctor and patient alike. The rallying cries end\, the capacity to stay with all the approaches wanes\, the spirits may flag for doctor and patient alike. And what about those who have stem cell transplant? What can naturopathic medicine do for them\, to help prepare and see them through the difficult times? \nDrawing from clinical experience as well as being a cancer survivor\, and stem cell recipient\, this lecture highlights top approaches to address symptoms residual from conventional care or related to ongoing care to improve quality of life. Pivoting then to the importance of shifting the internal environment to be less hospitable to further cancer\, the talk emphasizes the broad and specific evidence-informed ways we help our patients. \nMost importantly\, this lecture helps providers choreograph post treatment care which can be extensive and overwhelming for doctors and patients. Based not only on the most current evidence\, but on patient capacity\, resources\, and self-agency\, learn to prioritize to optimize. Get better at aiming for points of most leverage with patients for best possible outcomes. Learn ways of creating the right plan for the right patient at the right time. \nTiming and Registration Information Coming Soon
